Helping Students Live and Love Like Jesus
It is our hope that every student who comes and goes through the doors of this ministry has a greater understanding of who God is and who He has created them to be. Our ministry is set up in a way to facilitate the personal relationship God desires to have with each of us. We also hope that in a culture that is constantly on the go, this place would be a place of rest. We hope that each student will understand what it means to “Be still and know that He is God!” Finally, we hope that this is a place where everyone feels loved by God and loved by others!
How does this happen in the middle school ministry?
This year in our middle school ministry, we will be focused on who God is. We will do that through worship, activities, teaching, and small groups. The first weekend of the month will be our launch weekends. On these specific weekends we will use the time we have with the students to connect with them on every level. This happens through fun competitions, fun videos, great music and a teaching that sets up the main idea for the month ahead.
This year we would like to actively connect with you as parents. One weekend a month we would like to invite you to come and enjoy the service alongside your student(s) or simply observe the service from the back. We really believe that each of you plays an active role in the spiritual growth of your student(s). We also believe it is our responsibility to give you tools that help you better connect with your student(s) on every level of your relationship.
On the other weeks of the month the program will be scaled back to help us connect with your student(s) on a different level. These weeks will be filled with worship and small groups. We really believe these weeks are important as they allow students to ask questions and discuss what God has been showing them within their small groups. Each of these groups is gender-specific which helps facilitate a more impacting discussion time.
If you have a middle school student, I encourage you to do whatever it takes to get your students to the Upper 410 on Sunday nights at 6pm this summer.
How does this happen in the high school ministry?
This year in our high school ministry we will continue to look at who God is, and also take the time to really look at who God has called us to be. We will continue to invite kids to find rest and, in that rest, to find a greater purpose. We want students to take those moments and turn them into a movement! A movement that is about loving God with everything and seeing others and loving them no matter what. This is a new year with new kids, but the same God and same purpose. With that, we are excited to see what He is going to do in our Sunday night services, small groups, weekly r3 groups, in our families and in our close relationships as we pursue Him with deep conviction.
So if you have a high school student this year, it’s going to be fun! Encourage your students to check things out on Sunday nights at 6pm in the Loft.
How do we do it all?
Simple answer… with people like you! This year our model for our leadership team is, “We Will Tell…” We really believe that it is our job to tell the stories of who God has been in the past and who He still is today so that the next generation can see God for who He really is and do even greater things through their obedience. How does that happen? It happens when each of us stands up into who God has called us to be. It is our desire that all students would have one adult leader in their lives who believes in them, encourages them, and loves them. Maybe that person will be you…
If you are interested feel free to call us (715-834-9993 x114) or e-mail us (info@hairysparrow.com) for more information. Remember, if we don’t tell them, who will? And what will they be saying? It is time to stand up and tell the Next Generation!
